چکیده
Site characterization is a prerequisite for the successful and economic design of engineering structures earthworks by providing geological information any proposed project. Until now, no detail study has been carried out on site classification using shear wave velocity (Vs) up to top 30 m depth in Hawassa town. For this study, multichannel analysis surface waves (MASW) was used determine variation Vs proper civil In addition, vertical electrical sounding (VES) standard penetration test (SPT) were employed characterize near-surface materials. The Vs30 map prepared town estimated values which ranges from 248.9 m/s 371.3 while SPT-N 5bpf 50bpf. correlation done considering both corrected uncorrected values. VES result showed that groundwater found at shallow depth. value validated regression model. 1D profile 2D cross-section low soils are classified based as class C (stiff soil soft rock) D soils) according NEHRP (Natural Earthquake hazards Reduction Program) subsoil classes B Eurocode 8. geotechnical tests also area silty sand, sand with some gravel. observed should be given much attention during foundation stability structures.

15 صفحه اولDispersion interpretation from synthetic seismograms and multichannel analysis of surface waves (MASW)
Synthetic seismograms and multi-channel analysis of surface waves (MASW) enhance interpretations of a field site’s velocity characteristics. MASW layer models were numerically modeled to produce synthetic shot gathers. Iteratively updating the Pand S-wave synthetic velocity models created shot gathers with first-arrivals and Rayleighwave dispersion that closely matched field data. The resulting...

The present study was carried out from November 2008 to March 2009 in and around Hawassa town to identify and determine the prevalence of helminth species and its associated risk factors in Horses. For this purpose, a total of 190 fecal samples were collected randomly from naturally infected horses for examination of the presence of helminth parasites. The overall prevalence of different types ...
